The **Structural Engineer** will be required to demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and client focus/customer service; be resourceful and flexible, effective at handling multiple tasks; have good computer skills; have strong presentation, written, and verbal skills; and be able to effectively delegate or be delegated to while working in a collaborative format with multiple team members. **Responsibilities** + Provide value to our clients by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost. + Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email, and phone as necessary. + Work alone on projects or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail the new structural systems that are needed. + Assure work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed. + Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements. + Maintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services are needed. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structures + 5+ years of experience in the design of industrial, power generation, facilities, and structures + Working knowledge of Structural Analysis and Design Software (specifically RAM suite preferred + BIM strategies using Revit and Navisworks + PE License (or on path to obtain) + Background check with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Ability to travel to client locations as needed + Strong written and verbal communication + Knowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) + Ability to lead the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations, and writing proposals. + Ability to provide technical assessments of potential project opportunities to aid in project go/no-go decisions. + Ability to lead and oversee the work of other engineers and designers as a Project Design Lead or a Project Manager to develop project deliverables. + Ability to perform structural analysis and design calculations following office structural design standards. + Ability to stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities.
