Job Description
The Structural Design Engineer will be an integral part of the Structural Project Team, focusing on the design and development of projects such as commercial buildings, mixed-use spaces, healthcare facilities, and hospitality buildings in the Grand Rapids and West Michigan area. The role involves working with various materials, including wood, concrete, masonry, and steel.
Responsibilities
Perform structural modeling and create design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance.Participate in on-site assessments to evaluate project sites.Produce comprehensive construction documents for new designs, restorations, and building envelope projects.Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure quality.Communicate and collaborate effectively with architects and clients to meet project requirements.Essential Skills
Proficiency in structural engineering, AutoCAD, structural design, Revit, and structural analysis.Experience with steel structures and concrete.Strong understanding of CAD, structural steel, and engineering principles.Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.Passed FE Exam and possess EIT certification.Minimum of 1+ years of experience in structural design for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, schools, or hospitality projects.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related field is a plus.Work Environment
The position is based in a downtown Grand Rapids office with parking available. The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Employees enjoy 2 weeks of paid time off and will work collaboratively with a structural team in a small-team setting, promoting a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.
