Structural Designer - Corrugated

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all timesDevelop corrugated industrial, graphic packaging and POP display prototype samples based on project requirements customer expectationsDevelop detailed specifications to efficiently utilize our manufacturing and fulfillment capabilitiesWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams resources during research, ideation, evaluation and validation stages of all design solutionsStay current with industry and market trends and identify opportunities for new products and packaging solutionsVerify incoming tooling ensuring specifications are met according to approved and supplied dielinesGenerate detailed display specifications (including material, production info, label lines, multi-outs, etc.) and validate specifications of other Structural Designers for overall accuracyInterface fully with Customers, Account Executives, Customer Service and Project Managers through the design and execution processAccompany Account Executives on design-related meetings and presentations as neededDevelop distribution and in-store setup instruction sheets for retail packaging and displaysInitiate action to prevent problems and contribute solutions, document quality problems, verify implementation of solutions and control further processing when a problem is identifiedMaintain, organize and update customer records. Keep work area clean and well organizedPersonify a “Team Attitude” and provide support to others as neededUnderstand and interpret documents such as packaging design specifications, operating instructions, training and procedure manualsMust work well under pressure with multiple interruptions and be able to meet deadlinesCreate, adjust and prepare art files for a wide array of printing methodsFull-time role in an office/design department settingOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in structural packaging design – corrugated or display industriesCollege degree in Structural Design, Package Engineering/Packaging Science or Industrial Design from an accredited institution or equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of ArtiosCAD software, including parametric designsExperience with the following:CAPE design and palletization softwareOperating sample table cutting devices (i.e. Kongsberg tables)Display and/or retail ready packaging design developmentPackage testing and methodologies (UN, ISTA, etc.)Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, SolidWorks and Strata 3D is a plusGood knowledge and grasp on available printing methods currently in the market

Little to none, less than 10%
