Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Structural Design Engineer for a direct hire opportunity. In this full-time, remote role, you will leverage your expertise to perform civil structural analyses and design for both Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures. Your strong design background in structural concrete and steel will be pivotal in supporting our mission to revolutionize power technology.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Utilize advanced structural engineering tools and implement industry standards to design Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures. This includes post-processing analytical results and conducting designs for various materials (e.g., concrete and steel).
+ Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and structural engineering consultants to coordinate design activities and resolve technical challenges. A general understanding of related fields’ principles and practices is essential for success in this role.
+ Develop, review, and finalize requirement documents, methodology documents, design reports, and related studies.
+ Communicate effectively with contractors and regulatory bodies, leveraging strong written and oral skills.
+ Oversee and evaluate supplier deliverables by reviewing technical documentation (e.g., drawings, reports, specifications, calculations) to ensure compliance with project statements of work and requirements.
+ Mentor junior team members and take initiative in addressing technical issues as necessary.
+ Perform other duties as assigned that align with the goals of the team and organization.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities:
+ Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is strongly preferred.
+ Experience: At least 8 years of experience in nuclear/non-nuclear structural design.
+ Proficiency in designing and analyzing concrete and steel structures, with expertise in design software and finite element method analyses. Familiarity with codes such as ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690 is preferred.
+ Proficient in ANSYS; experience with LS-DYNA is a plus. Basic programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python) are preferred but not required.
+ Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
