Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Structural Analyst with a robust background in structural analysis to join our team in developing strategic space and weather systems. You will be a key contributor to the development of spaceborne payloads, focal plane arrays, and other sensor technologies, primarily conducting analyses and FEA using the ANSYS software tool.

ResponsibilitiesConduct structural analyses of opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, and microelectronics systems operating in harsh environments using FEA, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team to support design trades, failure analyses, and design reviews.Take ownership of structural requirements, ensuring they are met through all phases of design, integration, and testing.Present study results to both internal and external stakeholders through detailed written reports and formal presentations.Derive load cases and decompose system-level requirements into subsystem and component-level requirements.Utilize proven experience in a wide array of FEA problems including non-linear static, modal, random vibration, shock, and fatigue analyses.Apply hands-on experience with shock, vibration, and thermal testing, with the ability to correlate test results with FEA.Essential Skills8+ years of experience in structural analysis and design, including finite element analysis, shock analysis, vibration analysis, and fatigue analysis.Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred. A Master's degree is helpful.Proficiency with structural analysis using ANSYS and ANSYS Workbench.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with software tools such as Ansys Workbench, Nastran, and Abaqus.Knowledge in opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical systems, and space hardware.Experience in optical imaging systems and optical engineering.Work Environment

Join the Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business with locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. The Cypress location, home to 120 employees, includes cleanrooms, office space, assembly areas, and a manufacturing floor. This role supports spaceflight programs with a legacy of approved and real space programs, including government, military, DOD, and NASA programs. You will engage in challenging and new work with low-volume products, and there are opportunities to grow into lead or managerial roles if desired.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cypress, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
