Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer with expertise in NASGRO software for fracture analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of NASA-STD-5019, Fracture Control Requirements for Spaceflight Hardware, and provide technical advice on fracture control to the Commercial Crew Program (CCP).
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical advice on fracture control to the Commercial Crew Program (CCP), including reviews and recommendations.Develop, vet, and provide recommendations about variances in CCP partners’ fracture plans to the CCP Fracture Control System Manager.Understand and offer guidance on various material and Agency standards to CCP partners in the area of fracture and fracture control.Critically evaluate partner data to give technical conclusions.Integrate Fracture Control issues with the appropriate Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineering System Manager, Fracture Control Subsystem Manager, or Core Fracture Control engineer.Coordinate integration with nondestructive evaluation (NDE) and probability of detection.Essential SkillsProficiency in NASGRO software.Strong background in structural analysis and stress analysis.Experience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, and finite element analysis (FEA).Understanding of fracture mechanics, fatigue analysis, and welding.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with NASA projects and standards.Knowledge of fracture control and the ability to provide recommendations.Familiarity with the Human Lander System and other spaceflight hardware.Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, predominantly remote. Enjoy working on a variety of exciting projects, including the Artemis program for the Human Lander System. All federal holidays are off with pay, which are billable back to the client.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
