Stroke Coordinator/Quality - Neuroscience

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Stroke Coordinator - Neuroscience 

Job Summary:

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Coordinates chest pain and stroke programs components to include staff and community education, patient education, quality metric compliance monitoring and program needs assessment evaluation. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and coordinates delivery of plan of care. Responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating a standardized method of delivering clinical care for chest pain and stroke management. Coordinate the performance improvement process, program development, planning, organizing, implementation, and monitoring. Coordinate education for physicians, clinical and ancillary staff, patients, and community outreach. Concurrent and retrospective chart abstraction for patient monitoring and improvement opportunities. Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Clinical activities - promotes the delivery of evidenced based chest pain /stroke care and serves as a clinical resource. Education - coordinate intra-facility and regional educational activities related to chest pain/stroke care. Liaison - acts as liaison to local agencies, administration, physicians, and healthcare staff as it relates to stroke. Monitor compliance/input with chest pain/stroke registry databases.

Work Schedule: Full Time; 80 hours biweekly. 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - 

Qualifications/Education/Training:

Five years in acute care nursing required. ACLS and ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
