Stress Analyst Engineer - Level 4
Job Description This role supports the structural integrity of aircraft components through stress analysis, Finite Element Modeling, and engineering documentation. The engineer works with minimal oversight and often serves as a technical lead, supporting design, production, and in‑service programs. Key Responsibilities Structural Analysis • Perform static, fatigue, and damage‑tolerance analysis for metallic and composite structures. • Conduct hand calculations and classical stress methods. Modeling & Simulation • Build and analyze complex FEMs using FEMAP/NASTRAN. • Predict structural behavior under loads, pressure, and temperature. Design Support & Compliance • Partner with design teams to optimize structures. • Prepare stress reports and documentation for FAA/regulatory compliance. • Support MRB repairs and provide engineering dispositions. Testing & Validation • Develop structural test plans. • Compare and validate FEA predictions with physical test results.. Skills and Requirements • 9+ years of structural/stress analysis experience • Proficiency with Stress Analytic tools (PATRAN, NASTRAN, CSW, ABICAs, Hand Analysis). • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, fatigue, and damage tolerance. • Ability to perform hand calculations and classical stress methods. • Experience with aircraft structures (metallic and/or composite). • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or equivalent years of experience • Ability to work independently with minimal direction. • Strong communication skills and experience writing formal stress reports. • Eligibility to work onsite in Huntsville, Titusville, or Houston.
