Baseline Program Requirements: 

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited universityLegally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the companyAble to work in a fully remote environment on a part time basis (at least 20-25 hours per week) between August 25-December 5A minimum 3.0 GPA

Position Overview: At Siemens, we are committed to finding innovative solutions that advance society. We are looking for a passionate and talented Data Engineering and Visualization Intern to join our team and contribute to building a product-oriented dashboard for our strategy group. The end users of this dashboard could be within the product segment, sales and strategy teams. This role offers the opportunity to engage in both light data engineering and the creation of impactful visualizations, laying the foundation for a critical business tool.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement robust data pipelines in collaboration with our engineering teamOrchestrate seamless integration of multiple data sources and systemsOptimize data collection, processing, and storage workflowsEstablish automated data synchronization processesEnsure data quality, consistency, and reliability across platformsMaintain data integrity throughout integrated systemsCreate a dynamic, intuitive dashboard that transforms complex data into actionable insightsImplement interactive features that will enhance user experience and foster decision-makingPartner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutionsDrive continuous improvement through regular feedback and iterationDevelop comprehensive documentation for data models and processesMaintain up-to-date technical documentation for future scalabilityResearch and implement cutting-edge data visualization techniquesPropose and develop innovative dashboard featuresStay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics

Requirements: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related fieldProven experience in Python programming with focus on data pipeline developmentStrong command of data engineering tools and frameworks (Pandas, NumPy)Proficiency in both SQL and/or NoSQL databasesHands-on experience with ETL processes and data warehousing conceptsAdvanced knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power Bl, or similar)Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development platforms (GitHub, Gitlab)Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure is preferredKnowledge of containerization (Docker) is preferredStrong analytical mindset with attention to detailExperience in data modeling and optimizationAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insightsProblem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshootingExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishStrong project management and organizational abilitiesExperience in Agile/Scrum methodologiesAbility to work effectively in cross-functional teams

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education.
