TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures
Core Mission:
Execute daily trade compliance operations with precision, focusing on PN-level classification and material switching strategies to optimize TE's global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tariff & Trade Compliance Execution:
o About 10 years hands-on experience in global trade compliance (not limited to China-US; must cover USMCA, ASEAN, and other key regions)
o Expert-level knowledge of:
o Tariff classification & optimization strategies
o Trade agreement utilization (USMCA, RCEP, etc.)
o Customs valuation & rules of origin
o Conduct HS code classification at PN level for SKUs across regions (USMCA, ASEAN, EU, etc.).
o Validate country of origin and apply FTA preferences (e.g., USMCA, RCEP) to reduce duties.
2. Supply Chain Risk Mitigation:
o Identify PN-level substitution opportunities to bypass tariffs/sanctions (e.g., China+1 strategies).
o Collaborate with procurement teams to switch suppliers/materials without disrupting production.
o Flag geopolitical risks (e.g., ASEAN regulatory changes) to leadership.
o Identify and mitigate compliance risks across global supply chains
o Drive material switching strategies to optimize cost/compliance
3. Operational Excellence:
o Translate complex regulations into executable procurement strategies
o Train cross-functional teams on PN-level compliance workflows.
o Balance compliance rigor with commercial pragmatism
o Anticipate geopolitical shifts affecting supply chains
o Support resolve customs clearance delays (e.g., misclassified PNs).
Must-Have Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in:
o PN-level tariff classification (e.g., HTS, ECCN).
o Duty savings programs (FTA utilization, drawback, first-sale).
o Customs audits/disputes (prioritize candidates with OEM/electronics experience).
• Technical Skills:
o Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs for PN data analysis).
o Language: Fluent English
o ERP systems (SAP GTS preferred).
