We are seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to effectively enact on strategic procurement policies and procedures. Your responsibilities + To ensure we have a robust supply base that meets it’s needs in support of; customer service, profitable growth and improved financial performance. + Effective procurement and partnership with suppliers, reduce waste and naturally develop a ‘customer led’ organisation are the keys to success in this role. + Negotiation and management of all supplier contracts (new + renewals) ensuring 80% spend (inventory items) are covered under a Parker NPA. + Ensure adherence to corporate procedures and ensure adequate standard work procedures are in place at local level to meet these needs. + Update and review supply chain improvement board. + Support with monthly deflation reporting via POL. + Review bad PPI/PPV via POL and work to establish why and gain improvements. + Carry out cost reduction and deflation projects. + Carry out risk mitigation projects. + Conduct Sourcing reviews monthly with local material managers and buyers. + Support local supply chain team on issues that require Senior escalation. + Help support a customer led ethos in the supply chain teams such that all individuals play their part, there is effective communication with stakeholders and activities are planned and controlled to support the key metrics. + Help drive a continuous improvement programme within the supply base. + Rationalize and consolidate supplier base across to gain improvements. Who we are looking for + Significant experience in managing external supply base. + Excellent business acumen with ability to build effective partnerships with suppliers. + Proven record in budget achievement and effective financial management. + Problem solving approach. + Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills. + Ability to successfully negotiate and close out NPA’s. + Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders and understanding the core messaging required. + Experience of direct materials & indirect goods & services. + A Business Degree or equivalent experience.
