This individual will be responsible for the management and delivery of project portfolio(s). They will be responsible for ensuring all projects in the portfolio(s) are on schedule, within budget and deliver the required scope for benefit to the business. They will also collate information on various project metrics and report out to business leadership monthly. Finally, they will be responsible to continuously develop and improve the PMO and other business processes along with supporting and improving the skills of Project Managers within their allocated business areas.
Responsibilities Supports delivery of Strategic Business Plan, key programs and project initiatives.Drives PMO governance process and Influences to the broader organization to adopt project management and risk management mindset.Responsible for project portfolio(s) totaling ~30 projects: direct, coach, review and evaluate work of project and cross-functional teams.Monitor portfolio project performance to ensure that project is delivered on time, on budget and meets the stated objectives.Keep project tracker and other project documentation up to date.Support and provide guidance to project teams to develop appropriate project scope/KPIs/ PPMs.Manage project risks/schedule delays/ Budget increases with Project Managers and facilitate resolution of issues. Escalate and communicate issues promptly.Challenge assumptions, verify source of information and vet financial model with Project Managers and Finance Managers.Work with functional leaders to ensure optimal resource allocation and project prioritization according to Strategic Business Plan.Responsible for preparing and facilitating accurate Monthly Project Reviews for the Leadership Team. Perform quality check on project gate presentations, one-pager summaries and contracts.Conduct post-mortem analysis of closed projects. Share best practices and lessons learned.Lead efforts to enhance the PMO and other Business processes, update relevant policies and develop reporting metrics. Coach project teams and perform training as appropriate.Lead and monitor resolution efforts on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Develop relationships with local plant teams, functional leaders, VPs, etc. to ensure smooth progression of projects. Qualifications Previous experience in leading key initiatives required.Bachelors degree in technical or business-related field or equivalent experience requiredMBA in related field preferred5+ years of previous project management, portfolio management, corporate strategic planning and/or consulting experience required.Previous cross-functional experience in Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or IT preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.Six Sigma Certification preferred.Skills/Other
