Job Title: Strategic Buyer
Job Description
As a Strategic Buyer, you will be a key member of an associate team responsible for executing both tactical and strategic buying activities. Your role will be critical in ensuring on-time delivery and overall part readiness to support manufacturing, engine assembly, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) operations. You will support cost management, sourcing, and supplier management functions within the Purchasing Department. Additionally, you will initiate and evaluate requests for quotations (RFQ) and requests for proposals (RFP) to meet business needs, place purchase orders based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements, and coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure project goals are achieved.
Responsibilities
Communicate and follow up with suppliers to support on-time delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, MRO, and facility needs.Problem-solve and make decisions to support hardware disposition and expedite processes to achieve on-time delivery.Initiate and negotiate supplier requests for quotation (RFQ) and award business based on the best quality, cost, and delivery terms.Collaborate with Engineering (HGPU) and Suppliers to achieve process improvement goals in support of on-time delivery.Work with internal and external customers to support process changes and other project-related items.Provide support to team members to ensure processes are understood and followed.Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience in procurement or supply chain-related field.Minimum of 3 years of procurement or logistics-related experience is required. Manufacturing industry experience requiredStrong project management and problem-solving skills.Must have parts experience in the automotive or aviation industryAbility to manage supplier relationships and work in teams to build consensus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Good negotiation and analytical skills.Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, preferably in Aerospace.Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled office environment. It is fully onsite Monday - Friday with some flexibility on start and end times. Occasionally, you may need to visit manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required. The position requires less than 10% travel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
