Shape the Future of Strategic Asset Performance in NZCushman & Wakefield New Zealand is seeking a highly capable Strategic Asset Manager to lead and elevate our asset management strategy across a significant property portfolio, with a strong focus on Private Public Partnership (PPP) contracts.
This is not a traditional facilities role. This is a strategic, data-driven position responsible for lifecycle modelling, asset governance, capital forecasting, and performance optimization across complex environments.
You will report to the Head of Asset Management, Reporting and Analytics and play a key role in advancing asset strategy across the business.
Job Description
This role will see you:
Lead long-term asset management strategy across major portfolios
Drive lifecycle modelling and capital expenditure forecasting
Govern and enhance asset data quality and integrity
Oversee preventative maintenance frameworks
Support PPP asset management activities across island contracts
Deliver executive-level reporting and insights
Champion innovation and continuous improvement in asset practices
You will work closely with Contract Managers, Facilities teams, Asset specialists and key clients to ensure asset outcomes align with both client expectations and commercial objectives.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially astute asset professional who can operate autonomously and influence stakeholders at all levels.
You will have:
Engineering or building services qualification (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire, plant & equipment)
Proven experience in asset lifecycle modelling and capital planning
Experience working with CMMS and complex asset systems
Strong data management and reporting capability (Power BI highly regarded)
Advanced Excel skills (mandatory)
Experience working on PPP contracts (highly advantageous)
Familiarity with ISO 55001 asset management principles (desirable)
Bonus if you have basic programming or automation capability (VBA, SQL, etc.).
