Strategic Account Manager - Retail Horticulture

The Opportunity: 
The Strategic Account Manager for Retail Horticulture will manage and coordinate the profitable building of assigned Horticulture retail accounts.  The Strategic Account Manager will also target and win new and profitable sales with new and existing customers.  As Strategic Account Manager you will constantly monitor financial performance and coordinate resources to achieve sales and margin targets. 

In this role you will support the VP of Sales and Director of National Sales in developing a market strategy, annual sales budgets, and identify new business targets.  You will also support and work closely with senior business managers in managing grower partners for key retail business. 

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: 

Lead regional discussions, negotiations and the pricing of all relevant regional account bids in conjunction with the Director of National Sales. Communicate effectively with the retail customer business leads.Drive high standards of customer relationship management (CRM) and Sales Plan execution.Provide accurate short, medium- and long-term reporting and forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities. Work proactively with the Director of National Sales, to introduce and implement margin enhancement opportunities with all work won.Develop new business through working with regional sales teams, new prospects/customers to include site visits and phone contact.Build internal and external relationships.Develop profit margins through innovative solutions whilst enhancing our customer offering.Navigate on a national level long-term strategic planning whilst achieving short term deliverables.

 

What you need to succeed: 

Bachelor’s degree OR 7-10 years relevant Sales experience Previous industry and/or packaging experienceProven track record of sales success and deliveryProven successful Key Account management experience   Must have excellent personal computer skills, including experience with CRM, e-mail, social media, word processing and PowerPoint presentationsExceptional interpersonal skills Solid communication skills both verbally and in writing  Effective business presentation skills both individually and in group settings Must have strong organizational and project management skills
