Position Summary:
As a Strategic Account Manager you will be responsible for developing and executing business strategy for assigned strategic independent wholesale distributors (IWD). Successful performance will result in sales growth that drives share gain and margin expansion. This role will help ensure our long-term growth and success by developing strategic partnerships with customers and other key external stakeholders. This position is designated as Remote within the United States.
Major Job responsibilities:
Responsible for performance-share gain and margin expansion for assigned strategic distribution partners through residential, light commercial, and parts/supply sales. Assure strategy alignment - Connect Trane Technologies strategies with distributor priorities through business partnership and consultation. Primary relationship owner for Trane Technologies - acts as Trane's Technologies advocate to the customer as well as the customer's advocate to Trane Technologies to ensure value is delivered and recognized by both organizations Develop and continuously update distributor Account Plans focused on financial performance, market opportunity, territory coverage, succession planning, organization selling capability development, account history, key contacts with relationship strategy and a SWOT Analysis. Co-develop, with IWD support team, individual distributor marketing and sales plans that address the achievement of business objectives. Coordinates Trane Technologies team to influence and drive results, while helping create and maintain a collaborative environment. Align resources to meet specific distributor needs; distributor training with emphasis on consultative selling, digital implementation and selling strategies leading to profitable growth. Responds and escalate the needs and expectations of assigned distributors through the IWD support team. Responsible for efficient, thorough resolution of distribution conflict issues. Continuously communicate with other Strategic Account Managers and Regional Account managers to share best practices, and in turn, share with assigned distributors. Ability to travel up to 30-40% within the United States

Expert experience maintaining and developing executive level relationships Expert experience creating constructive tension (mutually beneficial) partnerships Proven experience framing opportunities based on corporate objectives and market insights Expert at business planning process with distributors and markets Skilled in creating and implementing programs for individual market opportunities Demonstrated collaboration with functional departments as necessary (pricing, product, logistics, etc.) Skilled at developing distributor growth strategies and measuring results Skilled at developing distributor territory managers for delivering our value-add message, as well as, supporting SMX, SPX, SELA Strong communication skills, both written and oral Strong presentation skills Strong of Trane Technologies products and parts offerings Expert knowledge of Two Step Distribution Proven background in conflict resolution Strong financial acumen (validating credit line reviews, IWD P&L, Dealer P&L) Ability to determine true opportunity cost incorporating margin, advertising, rebates, concessions, etc. to enhance ability to sell outside of price Working knowledge of computers, MS Office software, Siebel, Tableau, Oracle
Education/Experience Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work-related experience 5 years’ experience working with Independent HVAC distribution preferred
Base Compensation Range is $103,000 - $230,000. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
