STR Filing Clerk - AML (12‑Month Contract) Pay: $23-$25/hour Location: Mississauga, ON, Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week (Tuesday), 4 days remote Start: March 2026. About the Role This position sits within a financial institution’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and supports investigative teams by performing quality control and validation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) before they are filed with the regulator. The work is internally driven and focused on accuracy, completeness, and data integrity—no customer interaction and no independent money‑laundering determinations. Key Responsibilities + Conduct quality control reviews of STR submissions prior to regulatory filing. + Review failed or flagged STRs and collaborate with investigators to: + Identify missing mandatory fields + Resolve data quality or source‑data gaps + Validate accuracy and completeness of information + Maintain high productivity expectations: + ~10 minutes per review + ~6 reviews per hour + ~40 reviews per day + Support capacity needs while automation initiatives are underway. Qualifications + New graduate in finance, economics, business, or related field. + Exposure to AML, KYC, or transactional data is highly preferred. + Banking experience with strong familiarity with transactional information. + Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. + Ability to compare system‑generated data with investigative narratives. + Quick learner with interest in progressing toward investigative roles. Additional Qualifications + AML experience is preferred + Strong performers may transition into broader investigative or data‑remediation work. + Ideal for candidates seeking an entry point into AML or KYC compliance.
