Job Summary
Under the direction of the Purchasing/Distribution Supervisor and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, responsible for performing various duties in the Storeroom to receive, unpack and issue supplies and equipment.This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Unload and unpack shipments verifying contents using purchase orders and packing lists. Transport inventory supplies to proper storage area. Deliver non-inventory items to proper department and receive proper signature as proof of delivery.
Receive and fill requisitions from various departments for routine stock items utilizing a personal-computer based materials management software program. Deliver items in a responsible and timely manner.
Pack, mark, and ship all merchandise that is being returned by various departments for credit, exchange, or repair.
Participate in inventories as required and perform routine clerical functions, such as writing out partial receiving, file packaging slips, and purchase orders.
Maintain the Storeroom in a clean and orderly condition.
Work schedule requires weekend hours, and holiday and overtime hours as needed. Scheduled hours may vary depending on the department needs and may be adjusted from time to time.
Maintain established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality improvement program, compliance, safety, infection control, and environmental standards.
Maintain professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences or in-services, professional affiliations, or journals to stay abreast of current trends in field of expertise.
Meet annual competency and retraining requirements.
Attend meetings as required.
Perform other functions/duties as requested.
