**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Wheeling, WV. This role involves managing inventory, handling materials, and ensuring safe and efficient operations within the storeroom and storage yards. **Responsibilities** + Issue materials under proper authorization and maintain required records, including picking up, hauling, and delivering materials. + Check received materials for quantity and condition, initiate and process material receipt, and report any irregularities. + Identify, sort, and record returned materials, placing usable materials in stock and sorting non-usable materials into scrap containers. + Operate computer terminals and printers for materials management, along with other office equipment. + Prepare and pack materials for shipment or storage, including handling hazardous materials following safety procedures. + Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and overhead cranes. + Assist in maintaining efficient storage of materials and making necessary changes to bin locations. + Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels through cycle counts and discrepancy adjustments. + Perform duties in accordance with company safety rules and operating regulations. **Essential Skills** + A minimum of one year of experience in inventory control, material handling, or warehousing. + Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. + Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds and operate material handling equipment. + Strong knowledge of logistics related to shipping and inventory relocation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift experience is a plus. + Material handling experience is advantageous. + Light knowledge of MS Office Suite. + Background in construction or energy sectors is beneficial. + Must possess a valid driver's license **Why Work Here?** Join a large, stable, and growing power company that offers a supportive work environment and opportunities for career advancement. **Work Environment** This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions at the Wheeling Laydown Yard. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with breaks included. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans, and a t-shirt without inappropriate graphics. Safety is a top priority, with all necessary PPE provided, except for side shields for eyeglasses. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
