Job Title: Storekeeper/Inventory Control
Job Description

The Storekeeper/Inventory Control role is integral to managing and enhancing the inventory system for tools, equipment, and raw materials. The candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory, conducting cycle counts, and managing the ERP system, ensuring accountability for all inventory items.

ResponsibilitiesReceive materials physically and process them in the ERP system (BAAN) promptly and accurately to ensure continuous updates.Issue materials physically and process transactions in BAAN correctly as per work instructions to maintain current data.Maintain the Kanban system within the stores.Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure proper documentation is provided.Store items according to product storage instructions.Maintain inventory for items outside the store, such as thread protectors, raw materials, propane, oxygen, nitrogen, etc.Ensure FIFO for raw materials like glass.Perform all phases of cycle counting accurately and as frequently as indicated in the work instruction.Inspect incoming shipments for compliance with quantity and condition per documentation received.Inform the quality control team immediately upon receipt of raw materials for inspection initiation.Pack and unpack items, stock them on shelving systems, and distribute items to personnel within the plant.Essential SkillsExtensive experience in inventory control with at least 5+ years.Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly BAAN.Knowledge of cycle counting processes.Capability in shipping and receiving operations.Experience with forklift operations.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to be self-accountable and take ownership of the inventory system.Experience in managing inventory in a manufacturing environment.Why Work Here

Work Environment

The role is based in an older manufacturing facility featuring outdated machines and a non-climate-controlled environment. The facility operates on a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
