About the role
Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday or Friday
We are seeking a motivated and organized Summer Intern to support the Store Operations Communications & Workload Execution team. In this role, you will help create store-facing content, instructional tools, and job aids that make operational initiatives easier for stores to understand and execute. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure field teams receive engaging, accurate, and timely information that supports sales, operational excellence, and customer experience goals.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic projects while gaining hands-on experience in communications, workload planning, and store operations.

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work three days per week at the Support Center in Legacy West, Plano, TX.This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not provided.Availability is required from June 1 through August 7, 2026, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Develop Store-Facing Communications: Create clear, concise, and engaging communications, policies, procedures, and updates tailored for store teams.Create Instructional Job Aids & Tools: Assist in designing tools, guides, and job aids that help stores successfully execute operational initiatives and improve consistency.Contribute to Standards Development: Support the creation and documentation of store standards for new-format stores and evolving store concepts.Support Integration of New-Format Content: Assist in integrating new-format store processes, standards, and content into the broader fleet to ensure sustainability and consistency as the format grows across the organization.Support Program Rollouts & Field Readiness: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to coordinate rollout activities and ensure store teams receive clear, accurate, and timely information that makes programs easy to understand, adopt, and execute—ultimately driving operational, sales, and customer experience objectives.Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance communication quality, operational processes, and workload tools.Leverage AI Tools: Utilize AI as appropriate to improve efficiency in content creation, process mapping, and document development.Project Support: Participate in various operational and communications projects throughout the summer.Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities based on business need.Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements
Pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Operations, Retail Management, Project Management, or related fields.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.Interest in retail operations, workload planning, communication strategy, or process improvement.Comfort with learning and leveraging AI tools to streamline work.Self-starter with strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.
While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
