About the role

This Store Opening Coordinator is a project management role responsible for the end-to-end execution of new retail location launches. They manage the execution with cross-functional partners and ground-level implementation, to ensure every operational facet is executed according to the opening playbooks and the store is open according to the established timeline.

Leads and inspires project teams to meet deliverables in a timely manner with attention to detail and quality outcomes. Shares timely status updates with key business partners across the brand. This individual stays abreast of industry trends in store environment topics including store design and organization tools.  

Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination:

Lead the "New Store Opening" (NSO) process by managing the defined weekly timelines, critical dates, and project plans to ensure all milestones are met on time.

Provided ongoing feedback to cross functional team to drive continuous improvement and identify potential problems impacting any aspect of the store opening.

Act as the primary point of contact between Support Center departments (Marketing, Operations, HR, Construction) and field management to address issues, solve problems, and keep the project on schedule.

Partners with all key stakeholders, contributors and business and technical resources that must participate in a project. Participated in regular project meetings and follow up with team members as required to focus on business and operational issues or technical issues.

Manages the efficient implementation of each execution step, including delegating duties to all needed parties and keeping team members informed of the project needs, deadline changes, and functionality.

Support field leaders to keep the store team engaged and focused to meet the opening timeline.

Adaptability to handle fast-paced, ever-changing environments; strong problem-solving abilities for supply chain or construction delays; and exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple timelines simultaneously.

Cross Functional Partnerships:

Develop collaborative partnerships across construction, facilities, operations, merchandising, marketing, and more. 

Maintain a high-level understanding of each team’s business processes in order to identify and facilitate connections between teams to improve coordination of activities that impact store execution.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities and provide feedback for continuous improvement in execution techniques and processes from both Support Center and Field perspectives.

Remains current on technical and professional developments affecting area of responsibility.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

Experience with New, Relocation, Remodel, and Closing Stores, preferredAt least 3-4 years of retail experienceProject management experience in a combination of general business and project managementProven track record of managing complex tasks or technical projects within a large-scale organization.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

 Working conditions & physical requirements

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday or Friday

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
