Store Director - Northeast Dallas
Store Operations Responsibilities Ensure proper code dating for all products across departments. Enforce total store compliance with: Division scheduling initiatives Company policies Wage and payroll guidelines Time Clock Policy Benefit plans Grooming and dress code standards Child labor and employment laws Maintain accurate and complete records per legal and retention policies. Review and approve department schedules before posting to ensure proper staffing. Maintain store conditions, product quality, rotation, labeling standards, and code date compliance. Conduct daily inspections and coach employees accordingly. Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines. Implement emergency procedures for equipment/software malfunctions. Ensure proper product temperature and compliance with labeling laws and regulations. Follow all workplace safety rules and regulations. Perform receiving duties: Break down loads Verify orders using invoices Inspect product quality Report shortages Stock and rotate product Adhere to temperature and packaging guidelines Human Resources Responsibilities Accountable for staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training within the store. Evaluate employee performance and make personnel decisions (promotion, termination, discipline). Consider input from Grocery, Drug Managers, or Assistant Store Director (if applicable). Conduct formal evaluations per Division guidelines. Identify and ensure completion of training for key associates. Resolve employee relations issues (e.g., discrimination, harassment, off-the-clock work) with HR support. Build and maintain positive associate morale. Safeguard confidentiality of employee, store, and company information. Provide clear guidance to department managers, supervisors, and associates. Oversee compliance with: Cash handling procedures Sales accounting Safe procedures Asset protection Financial Responsibilities Control shrink and inventory levels in backroom and sales floor areas. Supervise reclamation processing and maintain stock conditions. Recommend equipment/building improvements to the district manager. Ensure merchandise is priced and displayed correctly; maintain clean shelves. Perform duties with safety, accuracy, honesty, and integrity. Treat all employees with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Complete all required reports and administrative paperwork. Understand and utilize reports (e.g., P&L statements). Prepare sales and inventory reports. Conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Ensure accurate inventory of merchandise, supplies, and equipment. Oversee inventories and independent audits. Skills & Physical Requirements Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor with customers and co-workers. Understanding of company practices and Grocery Department policies. Ability to frequently lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs; bend, stoop, reach, push/pull hand trucks and pallet jacks. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Ability to stand for long periods. Mental alertness for safe and accurate work. Knowledge of basic math, weights/measures, product standards, perishability, sanitation, labeling, and department policies. Operate equipment: telephone, pallet jack, hand truck, knives, scissors, safety cutters, Sterilox machine. Use cleaning supplies and equipment. Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices. Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; good attendance required. Exposure to potential hazards from equipment and work aids.
