This job contributes to Starbucks success by producing outstanding store designs for a regional market that upholds the Starbucks Customer Experience meeting cost, schedule and operational requirements by working with a cross-functional team. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
**_As a store design lead, you will…_**
+ Creates, manages and coaches design for projects or program (internal or external) overseeing project delivery through relevant professional design expertise, applied skill, localized market knowledge and Starbucks supported systems and tools
+ Creates as a role model, coaches others (internal or external), and manages design (program or project) to ensure high quality bran-accretive store design consistent with standards and strategic direction.
+ Manages the store design process and company standards with integrity, reliability, and efficiency to meet deadlines (project or program) and budgets across an assigned area, segment, or sub-set of the portfolio.
+ Stays current and curious with design and industry trends and/or affiliations, sharing and promoting at scale their learnings to uplevel the quality of the store design and effectiveness of design solutions
**_We’d love to hear from people with:_**
+ 8-10 years of experience with retail, hospitality or restaurant design including management of construction documents.
+ Bachelors' degree or diploma in the design discipline from a recognized educational institution.
+ Proficient using Revit and/or SketchUp for 3D modeling and architectural drawings.
+ Experience as a project or small team leader, including demonstrating ability to make decisions and manage multiple projects or priorities
+ Design program/project management experience including reporting, budget adherence and managing external consultants.
+ Current working knowledge of building and health code compliance.
+ Demonstrated 3D visualization ability and working knowledge of color and design principles.
+ Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines.
+ Ability to communicate design with hand sketches and drawings.
+ Skilled in visual, written and verbal communication of design issues.
+ Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document production.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
