What Sterility Assurance contributes to Cardinal Health
Quality develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and processes to ensure products and services comply with regulatory standards and specifications. Sterility Assurance performs technical studies and specialized laboratory testing to ensure that the risk of microbial contamination in our medical device product is controlled and appropriately low in our sterile product. This job family develops and executes precise monitoring and testing procedures to report on quality and regulatory science-based results in accordance with internal and external requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for working on product quality testing and issues where technical skills are applied to complex systems and difficult technologies require broad skillsPerforms routine testing related to product release (i.e. component bioburden testing, product bioburden testing, environmental monitoring of controlled environments, biological indicator sterility testing, product sterility testing, spore assays, BI population assays, bacterial endotoxin test, microbial limit test, media preparation etc.)QualificationsHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, required.Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related discipline, or equivalent work experience, preferred1-2 years of lab experience, preferredWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasksReadily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned areaMaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on routine assignments that require some problem resolutionWorks within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methodsAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks under moderate degree of supervisionWork typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisorRefers complex unusual problems to supervisor
