**Job Summary and Responsibilities** Join our team as a Certified Sterile Processing Tech. In the Certified Sterile Processing Tech role you will: + Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department. + Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment. + Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified. + Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR. + Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments. **This is a PRN position (5 shifts scheduled in a 6-week period). This position is used to cover call-offs, vacations, and where coverage may be needed. PRN is not eligible for benefits but does offer a 15% differential on top of the base rate of pay.** **Schedule: 3:00pm - 11:30pm** **Job Requirements** In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: + Computer skills required + CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer + High School Diploma/G.E.D. required Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) **Where You'll Work** Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest.
