Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Frisco is preparing to open its doors in Spring 2027, and we are assembling an elite team of cardiovascular professionals who want more than a job—they want to help define the future of heart care in one of the nation’s fastest‑growing regions.
As a new team member, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a new, state‑of‑the‑art heart hospital designed with one purpose in mind: delivering world‑class, patient‑centered cardiovascular care. In anticipation of our opening, select roles will begin as early as Summer 2026, allowing you to complete comprehensive orientation and training at our nationally recognized Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospitals. This immersive experience ensures you are fully prepared, aligned with our culture, and equipped with the highest standards of clinical excellence well before the Frisco campus opens.

Job SummaryAs a Sterile Processing Technician 2, duties include cleaning, sterilizing, processing, arranging, and distributing patient equipment. You may also mentor Sterile Processing Technician 1 staff.
Essential Functions of the RolePreparing and arranging rooms, including organizing instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies based on department needs.Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants. Operate sterilization equipment according to guidelines.Efficiently handling inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments, reusable medical equipment, and supplies for general and surgical use.Follow strict safety, environmental, and infection control rules to uphold patient care and office standards.Share skills with your team. Offer in-service training sessions. Assist with training Sterile Processing staff. Mentoring entry-level positions.Key Success FactorsFamiliarity with equipment and instrument sterilization techniques and proceduresUnderstanding of simple medical terminologyExcellent interpersonal and communication abilities, demonstrating tact when dealing with patients and colleaguesAdherence to best practice safety measures, environmental protocols, manufacturers' guidelines, and infection control practices.Belonging StatementWe believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma or GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE - (1) one year of experienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Cer Board Sterile Prcng & Dist (CBSPD), Cert Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), Cert Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), Cert Surgical Technologist (CST): Must have one of these.Certified Board Sterile Processing & Dist (CBSPD), orCertified Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), orCertified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT)Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
