**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**
The Sterile Processing Educator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive training programs for sterile processing staff. This individual will ensure that all sterile processing technicians are proficient in decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and storage of medical devices and equipment, adhering to industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and AHN policies. The educator will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Sterile Processing Department.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Develop, implement, and maintain standardized training curricula for all levels of sterile processing staff, including new hires, experienced technicians, and specialized roles.20%
+ Create training materials, including presentations, hands-on exercises, competency assessments, and visual aids.15%
+ Develop and administer competency assessments to evaluate staff knowledge and skills.15%
+ Identify performance gaps and develop targeted training interventions to address them.15%
+ Maintain accurate records of employee training and competency.15%
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance sterile processing practices.10%
+ Ensure that all training programs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Highmark policies and procedures.10%
+ Other duties as assigned or requested.
**Q** **UALIFICATIONS:**
**Required**
+ 3 years of experience in sterile processing
+ High School/GED
+ Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
**Preferred**
+ Experience in training, education, or staff development
**SKILLS:**
+ Basic Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
