This is a part time position.
The Sterile Processing Educator is accountable to the Sterile Processing Manager for developing, coordinating and integrating Sterile Processing staff education, training, competencies, professional practices and quality audit processes in the Operating Room and Endoscopy settings as it relates to AMMI and AORN Standards for reprocessing Surgical Instrumentation and Endoscopes. The Sterile Processing Educator serves as part of the management team, and is responsible for assessing, designing, developing, administering and measuring technical and performance requirements/skills for all instrument processing and workflow between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room. The Educator position is also responsible for maintaining ongoing review and knowledge of new technologies and instrumentation selections that reduce costs, improve quality of sterilization services, and maintaining Quality Assurance databases. Education responsibilities will not only be with the new orientees but will additionally include those duties/tasks that will encourage the current and experienced staff to obtain SP Certification.
