Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketUses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.A major portion of this role is helping the shop develop more cost effective strategies to lower cost. This will be achieved through process improvement, training and subsystem redesign. Position includes providing manufacturing technical support for solving difficult issues in production cells as well as the establishment of new workstation procedures and training.Act as a manufacturing engineering expert for component manufacturing operationsIdentify and execute projects to improve existing process quality and lower cost Work with materials engineering, design engineering and the shop to develop improved end winding systems and improved implementations in stator wind designs and processesProvide documentation and training to shop floor to ensure seamless new product or process executionWork with shop to develop manufacturing methods, schedules, and documentation for improvementsApply lean methods to equipment and material handling designs to reduce waste throughout the production processDesign, procure and implement tooling and fixturing to support rapid setup changesTroubleshoot issues with equipment and processes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of relevant experience (or high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years manufacturing experience in a technical role).

Experience in manufacturing, assembly, constructionExperience with electrical and mechanical equipmentStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.
