Main responsibilities:

Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service at all times. Train, schedule, and supervise Starbucks department employees to ensure optimal staffing.  Resolve customer concerns related to service or product issues. Perform inventory, order necessary supplies, and maintain adequate product levels.  Prepare, brew, and serve beverages using Starbucks equipment and established procedures.  Operate a cash register, accept payments, and make correct change. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee service and café area, including equipment, counters, dishes, and floors.  Set up and maintain product displays, signage, and tags.  Ensure compliance with all company policies, Starbucks corporate policies, and all required audits.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills: 

Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.  Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).  Ability to multitask, work under stress, and manage time effectively. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions without supervision.

Competencies: 

Ability to organize, plan, and analyze reports.  Knowledge of shrink programs and related audits. Ability to follow company customer service guidelines and safety procedures.  Ability to supervise employees and ensure compliance with policies and required standards.

 

Knowledge: 

Knowledge of coffee and tea beverage preparation methods and equipment.  Ability to memorize drink formulas and PLU codes.  Understanding of Starbucks corporate policies and Safeway/Albertsons policies.

Abilities: 

Ability to stand and walk continuously for most of the shift.  Ability to lift and carry 5–50 lbs., push/pull 10–300 lbs. depending on cart load. Ability to reach, grip, grasp, bend, twist, and perform frequent physical tasks associated with beverage preparation and stocking.  Ability to work a variety of shifts in a 24‑hour operation.
