**Description**
Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced IT Professional to serve as Systems Administrator for the Integrated Missions System Sector in Raleigh, NC. The candidate will support multiple programs. The Systems Analyst will coordinate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for these Information Systems to ensure the Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are implemented, functional, and kept up to date according to System Security Plans, the DAAPM/NISPOM, and applicable NIST Publications.
In this position, the Systems Administrator will build, configure and maintain systems that adhere to government regulations. Responsibilities also included executing security scans and analyzing those scan results, maintaining file servers, and network access, and documenting and analyzing system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance. Day-to-day tasking also includes preparing systems for operational use and supporting operational testing, supporting secure maintenance and continuous monitoring as well as providing technical support to users.
**Staff Systems Administrator Requirements:**
+ U.S. citizenship is required and an active Secret security clearance with eligibility for a Top Secret Security Clearance.
+ High School Diploma and equivalent professional experience (8-10 years) will be considered for talented candidates without a degree or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
+ Possess a DoD 8570 IAM-I level professional certification (i.e. Security +) or can obtain the certification within six (6) months of hire.
+ 4 years of computer operating systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2019/2022 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux), Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and/or Host based Security System (HBSS).
+ 4 years of experience with security assessment/hardening tools, i.e. STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, etc.
**Staff Systems Administrator Preferences:**
+ Experience working on Government approved secure systems.
+ Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, etc.
+ Experience working with RSA Cybersecurity SecurID hardware tokens/authenticators or DoD SIPR tokens.
+ Working knowledge of and experience with Cisco routers, firewalls and switches.
+ Completion of the DoD Certified ACAS Operators Course strongly preferred.
