This role leads cross‑team initiatives and establishes engineering standards while designing and implementing end‑to‑end solutions across front‑end (React, TypeScript, Next.js, MUI) and back‑end (Node.js services, APIs, databases, cloud). It ensures performance, accessibility, security, and reliability at scale, mentors engineers, and collaborates with product, design, and devops to deliver impactful customer outcomes. The position advances CI/CD, testing, observability, and documentation to sustain high‑quality delivery across services. **What You’ll Do** + Lead technical strategy and architecture across services and teams; author ADRs, establish standards, and drive alignment to business outcomes. + Design and implement high‑impact features end‑to‑end across React, TypeScript, Next.js, MUI, and Node.js services (APIs, data layers). + Define and evolve APIs and integrations (REST/GraphQL), data models (SQL/NoSQL), and service frameworks (Express/NestJS/Fastify) with robust contract testing. + Build reusable UI component libraries and a design system in MUI with strong accessibility (WCAG) compliance. + Optimize performance and reliability in Next.js (SSR/SSG where appropriate): profiling, caching, bundle optimization, and latency reduction. + Advance reliability engineering and observability: instrumentation (OpenTelemetry), dashboards (Datadog/Grafana), SLOs/SLIs, incident response, runbooks, and postmortems. + Champion secure coding practices and manage authN/authZ across the stack (OWASP, OAuth/OIDC/JWT, secrets management). + Own testing strategy and CI/CD governance (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress); strengthen pipeline standards and release automation. + Design and tune back‑end infrastructure for scale and cost efficiency: caching (Redis), queues/messaging (Kafka/SQS), load balancing, horizontal scaling, and cloud cost/perf optimization. + Communicate decisions clearly through documentation, tech talks, and stakeholder alignment; mentor engineers and model best practices. **What You’ll Bring** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. + 10+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems end‑to‑end. + Expert proficiency in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, and MUI. + Demonstrated leadership in system architecture, cross‑team initiatives, and performance optimization across front‑end and back‑end. + Experience with API design (REST/GraphQL), data modeling (SQL/NoSQL), and service frameworks (Express/NestJS/Fastify). + Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation). + Strong experience automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and security best practices (OWASP). + Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical mentorship with a product‑centric mindset. Benefits and compensation will be governed by the location that you are based from andconsidered your home site. The US salary range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and mayalsodepend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
