Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is searching for **Staff Engineer Software** to join the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Directorate in our Research and Advanced Design (R&AD) Division in support of R&D activities spanning multiple sectors and programs, in **Melbourne, Florida** and will be primarily based within our office spaces to support program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule, meaning you will get every other Friday off. The position has **NO** remote or Hybrid work available. **Key Responsibilities:** + Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. + Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. + Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious + Leading software development and integration teams. + Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objective and self-initiate assignment when required. + Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results + Working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and creating complex solutions supporting joint all domain command and control (JADC2) advanced studies utilizing cloud technologies, AI/ML and other optimization methods as it applies to JADC2. + develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product and demonstration + candidates may be selected to serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least **12** years’ experience, or STEM master’s degree with 10 years’ experience, or a STEM PHD with **8** years’ experience. + Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated **Secret clearance** (DoD must be in- + Experience with version control and collaborative development tool suites + Demonstrable expertise with Java or C++ and scripting languages (bash, python, yaml) + Writing micro-services in event driven architecture using containers and container management, Helm Charts, Cloud Platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing and deployment + Experience with the development and application of AI/ML algorithms + Knowledge and familiarity of software and systems engineering + Significant experience using/developing in a Linux environment + scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile Dev*Ops environment + Experience leading software development teams + Experience interacting with customers/stakeholders + • Knowledge of data driven architectures and solutions + Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance + Experience with DoD Open Architecture solutions such as Open Mission Systems + Experience with Battle Management in one or more operational domains + Experience configuring Linux environments (e.g., installing RPMs) + Experience with software/container security scanning tools + Experience with Ansible automation + Experience with the Atlassian tool suite including Confluence, JIRA, Crucible, Bitbucket + Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, collaborative/team settings across all levels + Strong software architecture design and diagnostic/problem solving skills + Experience working Requests for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) + Security+ certification Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
