Staff:

Estimated annual base pay:  $114,400 (minimum) - $143,000 (midpoint) - $171,600 (maximum)

Senior Staff:

Estimated annual base pay:  $131,600 (minimum) - $164,500 (midpoint) - $197,400 (maximum)

The Staff/Sr. Staff Geared Rotary Actuation Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Leader, is responsible for leading product design efforts, mentoring engineers, and contributing to process improvements, strategic planning, and presentations. Operating with minimal supervision, the role involves independent work, oversight of project portfolios, and awareness of industry trends and customer needs. The engineer engages in high-level customer interactions, provides technical evaluations of new opportunities within the PLC process, and participates in enterprise negotiations.

Expertise includes designing geared rotary actuators (GRA), geared hinges, compound planetary systems, and high torque gear transmission systems to drive doors, utility actuation, and flight control surfaces in the aerospace market.  Experience with specifying gear materials and associated special processes as well as understanding gear drive lubrication for aerospace applications is desired. 


What you will be doing…

Design and optimize GRA products using CAD tools for accuracy, durability, and reliability.Select materials and component architectures to develop prototypes for performance optimization.Test design concepts under various conditions and predict reliability and life estimates.Collaborate with multidisciplinary and manufacturing teams for system integration and scalable designs.Innovate to enhance performance, reduce costs, and contribute to patents and business growth.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain thorough design documentation.Lead GRA development projects, ensuring on-time delivery and providing technical support.Stay updated on industry advancements and align designs with market trends and customer needs.

What we are looking for…

Staff:

Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Greater than 8 years' experience in related field, including post-graduate experience

Senior Staff:

Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Greater than 12 years in related field required, including post-graduate experience.
