Job ResponsibilitiesLead groups of scientists and individual contributors to facilitate multiple projects, ensuring financial achievements are reached.Conduct skip-level meetings with management staff reports, leading team financial and project achievements and results.Train and mentor group leads in technical proficiencies and career development, potentially serving in a site leadership role.Lead technical demonstrations and develop demonstration protocols, delivering customer training on demand and mentoring new application scientists.Support system installation and acceptance tests, assist in developing standard methodologies and optimizing alignment processes.Develop technical content for sales and marketing, supporting R&D testing projects and integrating customer feedback into product development.Conduct system benchmarking and ensure systems are demo-ready, developing and implementing system benchmarking protocols.Technical ProficienciesAssume all technical proficiencies of the professional track, making decisions that require choosing between multiple options and developing new solutions to resolve complex problems.Coordinate the implementation of Practical Process Improvement tools to drive group efficiency, leading teams of scientists typically assigned to a specific functional area.Lead project blocking issues at core team meetings, engaging staff to gain customer approval, and potentially tackling a leadership role at the department level.Serve as a subject matter authority with deep knowledge of multifaceted aspects of electron microscopy and analysis, providing mentorship to team members.Implement and optimize advanced electron microscopy techniques to support research and development projects.Make detailed observations and analyses to resolve issues, detailing and presenting test results effectively.Plan and lead PPI initiatives to drive continuous improvement, leading projects with supervision and managing project timelines and deliverables.Education and ExperienceOne of the following:
BS in chemical engineering, biochemistry, biology, or a related field with 8 years of experience.MS in a related field with 6 years of experience.PhD in a related field with 3 years of experience, supervisory experience required.Client ResponsibilitiesAddress customer concerns not handled by group leads.Lead workflow demonstrations for customers, including detailed explanations and addressing technical questions.
