Staff R&D Engineer, Extrusion
As a Staff Engineer at Stryker Neurovascular, you’ll provide technical leadership and drive innovation in the development of life-saving technologies that address critical neurovascular needs. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead validation activities for new extrusion process introductions, shaping the future of catheter design and manufacturing. **What you will do:** + Work with a multidisciplinary team to support new product and process introductions with a focus on Extrusion + Write and execute process validation protocols and reports for new product introductions and re-validations due to process /material improvements utilizing scientific / technical knowledge. + Provide Technical leadership from an engineering perspective. + Select tooling, components, and equipment + Develop extrusion specific testing and inspection protocols + Complete capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment right through to validation + Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation **What you need:** + Polymer or Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree or relevant technical degree required + 5+ years medical device design/manufacturing and/or extrusion/molding experience + Demonstrable strong analytical & problem solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment + Strong understanding of plastic materials and extrusion processing + Experience of Design for Manufacturing, capability studies, verification and validation + Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment + Capable of providing technical leadership and influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Technicians and Operators as required + A team player, with a flexible approach + Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and implement technological and automation advances + Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others This role may be suitable for candidates with experience in the following roles or similar: + Plastics Processing + Process Engineer + Polymer Engineer + R&D Engineer Health benefits include: Medical and prescription drug insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, personalized healthcare support, wellbeing program and tobacco cessation program.
