Work Shift
Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Pathologist to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a leading healthcare institution in Austell, Georgia, known for its patient-centered care and innovative medical services. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty expertise in areas such as Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, or Hematopathology.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide diagnostic pathology services, including the interpretation of surgical pathology, cytology, and clinical laboratory tests.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare providers to support patient care.Conduct (gross and) microscopic examination of specimens and prepare diagnostic reports.Supervise and guide laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital committees.Engage in teaching and mentorship opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows (if applicable).Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).Subspecialty fellowship training is preferred (e.g., Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Gyn, GU).Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.Strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to quality patient care.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately.Why Wellstar Kennestone?
