Role Summary Launch Program Management is a cross functional leadership role who brings together product development and operations organizations to bring new products from concept to life. In this role, you will partner with the Product Engineering & Development, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and Operations, as we design, develop, build, and Launch Rivian’s Vehicles to Market. This will encompass planning, managing, and delivering from initial prototype builds though start of production and ramp up, ensuring all operational cross functions are ready to deliver high quality products to market on time, at cost and the best quality. The Staff Launch Manager's responsibility will span across the Vehicle Assembly Plant (Body in White, Paint, General Assembly and End of Line). This role will be onsite at our plant in Normal, IL. ** Posting will go down 8/16 ** Responsibilities Lead and manage effectively cross functional teams to achieve shared objectives for successful Vehicle Launch and ramp. Lead multiple launch programs simultaneously and provide program status updates to leadership and executives. Plan, organize, and orchestrate all pre-launch build planning and execution. create vehicle build plans per program milestones and manage the build execution and delivery to meet the programs targets. Proactively identify risks, develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to address potential risks across all stages of program (pre-production, production and ramp). Lead the Production Operations readiness workstream, ensuring we meet target objectives and escalate/develop recovery plans as needed. Interact, integrate, and drive results across cross-functional teams in Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Production Operations, Production Control, Sales, Service, etc. Support production ramp with Production Operations teams, identify all needed activities with Manufacturing Engineering, Enterprise Systems, Supplier Quality, Materials Supply and support the team to meet the ramp plan execution and risk mitigation of those activities. Understand the complex technical, engineering and business situations arise during the launch of the program and articulate and influence the complex decision-making process with tradeoffs with stakeholders. Author project status, summary, and issue resolution tracking reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering 7+ years’ experience in an automotive/high tech production or engineering environment, with experience launching products from prototype into series production Experience in vehicle assembly Plant - body in white, paint, general assembly, or end of line. Should have operations knowledge of complex vehicle assembly lines operations including production planning & control, material management, supply chain, quality control & management, factory software, factory digital systems and operational excellence. 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial engineering or supply chain highly desired, especially with high tech/software/EV related industry 3+ years in a cross-functional operations in a manufacturing setting Understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to complex new products that stretch across various engineering teams and manufacturing centers/factories (methodology, validation plans, associated KPIs) Must be able to handle high pressure situation and work under stress to deliver program targets. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong knowledge of Project management and problem solving. Must be able to travel up to 20% Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration Project Management Certification Have rounded experience in managing and launching products from end to end (concept to market) Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment Team player; Able to work in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Illinois Based Applicants: $140,600 - $175,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
