Job responsibilities include Leading the PDK direction across multiple technologies; interfacing with other foundry roles as a subject matter expert; mentoring PDK/CAD engineers; maintaining documentation and schedules.

We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer

This position requires fulltime on-site work at our Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) in Linthicum, MD location or our Annapolis Junction, MD location.

We are seeking a motivated individual to help us design the next generation of high-performance computing solutions! Our technology is built around superconducting electronics and energy efficient computation. You will work with a team of scientists and engineers to design, fabricate, and test digital logic circuits. Write design verification rule filesCreate PDK tech filesCode skill based P-CellsEdit/Integrate PDK model filesWrite scripts to automate common tasks and improve designer efficiencyReview the work of other PDK engineersMaintain PDK documentationDevelop and deploy robust PDK regression and release methodologiesLead PDK direction across multiple technologiesChampion the implementation of best practices and task automationInterface with other foundry roles as a subject matter expertMentor Junior/Mid-level PDK/CAD engineersDemonstrate capabilities to stakeholders and provide support for any feedback and enhancementsParticipate in Agile project management work flows to drive projects to the finish line

Basic Qualifications for Staff Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 12+ years of experience (or Master of Science degree with 10 years; PhD with 7 years) within a related engineering field. Experience creating and augmenting IC PDKs for compatibility with microelectronics foundry processesSolid knowledge of the Cadence Virtuoso environment AND DRC/LVS/PEX within Cadence DIVA, Assura or Mentor Graphics CalibreExperience generating scripts (SKILL, Python, PERL, Ocean, Linux Shell, etc.) to provide capabilities within a CAD environmentStrong analysis, design and problem solving skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be willing to work on site 100% of timeLimited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be requiredThis position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizenMust be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements

Preferred Qualifications for Staff Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer:

Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years within a related engineering field. Semiconductor device modeling experienceKnowledge of semiconductor process development, design, manufacturing and testingExperience taking lab measurements on process control monitor (PCM) test structures or interpreting results from automated testing of those structuresExperience utilizing the Spectre simulator to verify models match measurements  Must be willing to work on site 100% of timeLimited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be requiredThis position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizenMust be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
