The Role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Content Team, responsible for managing the unauthenticated content across OneMainFinancial.com. This is a critical role that blends hands-on technical contributions with team leadership and strategic direction.

As a Staff Engineer, you will lead the architectural direction and best practices for front-end development across our content ecosystem. This role is approximately 60% hands-on coding and 40% collaboration, including mentorship, code reviews, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy and implementation for unauthenticated content on OneMainFinancial.com.

Build, maintain, and optimize responsive and performant front-end experiences using Angular and modern development standards.

Collaborate with product, design, content, and marketing teams to deliver scalable and flexible web solutions.

Perform regular code reviews and mentor other engineers on front-end development best practices.

Define and implement front-end architecture patterns that support scalability, maintainability, and reusability.

Partner with DevOps and backend teams to ensure seamless integration with APIs and AWS infrastructure.

Champion accessibility, performance, and security in all aspects of front-end development.

Engage with stakeholders to align engineering goals with business objectives.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on front-end development.

Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, and CSS3.

Strong understanding of modern front-end architecture, component design, and state management.

Experience working within the AWS ecosystem, including deploying and managing front-end applications.

Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern development tools (e.g., Webpack, ESLint, Prettier).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of cross-functional engagement.

Preferred:

Experience with Contentful or other headless CMS platforms.

Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails and how it integrates with front-end services.

Background in SEO optimization and web performance tooling.

Target base salary range is $130K – $170K, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
