Staff Engineer I, Platform Architecture

Position Summary

Work with an engineering team from the requirements gathering phase to the release phase, solve difficult problems aimed at making the Customer experience seamless. Provide architectural guidance and establishing best practices for expanding the feature set of the platform in an extensible and scalable manner. Develop and deliver quality services and solutions using Node.JS, JavaScript, HTTP, REST, RDBMS, NoSQL, and other web technologies. Translate complex requirements into detailed design. Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology. Provide support for issues found in production, and to come up with short term and long-term solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 8 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate experience in job offered or any related engineering job titles.

Applicants must possess 8 years of experience in the following: (1) Software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations; (2) Development in Node.js and JavaScript; (3) Building REST based reactive Microservices platform and Leveraging frameworks like Hapi.js and / or Express.js; (4) Relational and NoSQL databases PostgreSQL, RethinkDB, or MongoDB; (5) search and analytics tools and technologies ElasticSearch and Kibana; (6) event/message driven system design and architecture; (7) leveraging technologies including RabbitMQ and Kafka; (8) data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures; (9) DevOps process and tooling for deployment, monitoring and site reliability engineering; (10) Managing Applications in the Cloud including leveraging technologies Kubernetes, Docker and AWS.

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $243,349 – $253,349/Year. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
