Staff Engineer, Wind Asset Advisory

UL Solutions Renewables is seeking an experienced renewable energy professional to join the Asset Advisory team as a Staff Engineer, managing projects, preparing proposals, and interfacing with customers.
This is a hybrid role based in Lyon, France. Possibility to work remotely from Paris, Marseille, Montpellier, or Nîmes.
+ Serve as the primary client interface for UL Solutions Renewables Asset Advisory, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
+ Coordinate the engineering studies with the team: LTE (Lifetime Evaluation), OEYA (Operational Energy Yield Assessment), EYA (Energy Yield Assessment).
+ Prepare comprehensive proposals outlining the scope of work, team structure, budget, and project schedule to meet client expectations.
+ Manage and coordinate internal resources, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to ensure project deliverables remain on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
+ Manage and execute Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) services to support the financing, sale, or acquisition of wind plants and portfolios.
+ Collaborate with the Due Diligence team on services like Turbine Technology Reviews (TTR), Site Suitability assessments, and other evaluations.
+ Compile and finalize IE and TA reports, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations.
+ Integrate all review sections from UL and the multi-disciplinary sub-consultant team, incorporating the results of UL’s energy analysis to ensure consistency across technical and commercial assessments. Summarize key results and conclusions.
+ Develop and implement communication plans and project status reports. Lead and facilitate regular status meetings with the internal project team, sponsors, and stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to identify project risks, barriers, and issues, and propose effective solutions and mitigation strategies.
+ Apply best practices and incorporate lessons learned from previous projects to enhance project execution.
+ Represent UL at industry conferences within the region, staying engaged with sector trends and fostering professional connections.
+ If located in Lyon: site leadership responsibility.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
+ A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in wind asset advisory, due diligence, project development, construction, equipment supply, operation, or mergers & acquisitions.
+ Strong understanding of asset advisory best practices and the typical steps of a due diligence (DD) process.
+ Experience in wind asset management.
+ Highly motivated, versatile, and possessing excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding delivery deadlines.
+ Preferably based in Lyon, France, with up to 25% travel across Europe expected.
+ English is a must; additional language skills highly valued.
