The Experience Design Center at Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an ambitious packaging engineer to join us on our journey to innovate and excel in environmentally-friendly packaging. You will play a crucial role in our mission by designing and implementing packaging strategies that support Thermo Fisher’s and our customers’ net-zero commitments.
How will you make an impact?
You will orchestrate the integration of sustainability into the development of product packaging.You will be responsible for multiple projects concurrently.You will set clear goals and support product teams from concept to commercialization.What will you do?
Continuously expand knowledge on new technologies and applications within your subject area.Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to identify outstanding selling points for more sustainable packaging.Support the development of scalable solutions and profitable products that delight users.Actively participate in team meetings and discussions, providing input and considering feedback from both technical and business perspectives.Present and support new insights or alternative viewpoints during team discussions.Perform environmental impact assessments in a professional setting, balancing multiple projects simultaneously.Apply software tools and datasets to assess the environmental impact of alternative packaging scenarios.Show tenacity in professional tasks, ensuring ideas and projects are pursued to completion.Conduct prototyping analyses to quantify the environmental and cost impacts of proposed design changes.How will you get here?
5+ years of first-hand experience in sustainability design, packaging design, or a combination thereof.Familiarity with instrumentation, consumables, and workflows used in academia, pharma and biotech research laboratories.Education & Experience
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Packaging, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.Benefits

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $115,000.00–$160,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
