Mechanical Staff Engineer, Engineering

You will report to a Mechanical Engineering manager based in Singapore.

Job Description Summary

This is a technical leadership position. You are expected to have track records in the following areas:Technical management capabilities, in leading mechanical team in achieving project technical and schedule objectivesA good collaborator and working in many-sided projectsGood track records in design and process innovationsAdvanced knowledge in the following areas:Plastic/Metal parts design; tolerance control and tooling processMaterial selection and Stress & Strain analysisDFX; especially design for reliability under shock and vibration environment.Successful candidate will need to conduct the following engineering activities:Use 3D CAD tool to design plastic and metal parts for electronic boxesconduct rapid prototyping and rapid testing to validate design requirementsperform design trouble shootings and design solution implementationssupport parts fabrication, product assembly and production processesgenerate technical drawings, design reports, test plans and technical documentationswork with Quality team to ensure product quality and reliability

You are expected to have the following essential knowledge:evaluate stress and strain for plastic and metal designsexperience in and understanding of multiple 3D printing technologies and other rapid prototyping techniquesYou will design mechanical tests for design verificationsunderstanding of plastic molding and metal fabrication processesability to design parts that facilitate product assembly and production processesunderstanding the design of and ability to troubleshoot electromechanical connectorsexperience in providing design solutioning to prevent product being damaged by thermal and mechanical shock and vibration

Candidate with the following knowledge will be:You will conduct computer modelling and simulation, using Ansys, during product designYou will instrument product and conduct shock and vibration tests on a shaker tableYou are good at troubleshooting and solutioning

You must be a team player working with members to build project tasks and to meet project timelines.

Education Requirements:

Degree/Master in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering

10+ years of experience in mechanical design of plastic and metal parts, for electronic boxes, in electronic product industry
