We are seeking a Staff Engineer to serve as a senior technical leader and hands-on individual contributor within our 300-person organization supporting Commercial Cards for large and global corporate clients. This role operates at the intersection of scale, reliability, and innovation—powering mission-critical global platforms that provides our clients best in class services.

You will drive architecture and engineering excellence across complex, distributed ecosystems, partnering across product, risk, operations, and enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record delivering large, global initiatives in regulated financial environments, integrating with complex internal and external systems and partnering with different stakeholders. You lead through influence, elevating technical standards, mentoring engineers, and shaping long-term technology strategy while remaining close to the code.

You are deeply hands-on, fluent in modern engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, APIs, event-driven systems, and contemporary data platforms. Working knowledge of AI and emerging generative AI capabilities, with the ability to incorporate them thoughtfully into real-world systems across the SDLC—from experimentation and prototyping through integration.

This is a high-impact role for a pragmatic innovator who can balance execution with forward-looking architecture—modernizing our ecosystem, accelerating delivery, and ensuring our platforms scale securely and intelligently with our clients’ evolving needs.

Experience:

Engineering - significant (10+ years) experience with one or more major technology; history of patent awards preferred; demonstrated experience with cloud service provider required (Amazon, Google, Microsoft), certification desiredArchitecture - strong grasp on modern architectural patterns; ability to think big picture while implementing locallyExtensive hands-on coding experience in platforms primary technology stack i.e. proficient in Java (potentially Kotlin), Javascript, React.js. Advance experience in modern technologies (e.g. docker, Kubernetes, Java, Spring, Scala, Python, React.s), RDMS & NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Cassandra) along with CI/CD tooling e.g. Github enterprise, Jenkins, etc.Working knowledge of AI and emerging generative AI capabilities,Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiencesDemonstrated technical leadership; act as mentor for engineers; ability to influence

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
