Role Summary The Charging Product Design Engineering team bring new Rivian charging products to life. We take products from sketch to production and beyond, producing creative engineering solutions to improve the useability and reliability of charging for all Responsibilities Work within Rivian’s Charging organization to take ideas from conceptualization through to off tool parts and production, responsible for the mechanical design, CAD, detail and testing success. You’ll be working directly with our electrical engineering team, product managers, program managers, and Charging leadership on the next generation of Rivian chargers. Contribute to product architecture, optimizing for things like user experience, product quality, reliability and serviceability, as well as for assemblability and cost. Collaborate with our supplier base to ensure your designs are made on time and to specification, and to guide the suppliers through any elements they may be responsible for. Build-in Design for Manufacture into every design, right from the start, and create tolerance strategies and engineering drawings that ensure the product works first time. Your passion for quality in engineering will mean high levels of rigor in design and documentation. Work with FEA personally, and alongside thermal simulations to ensure the success of your designs. Work on testing and validating your designs at prototype level through to off tool parts. While primarily focused on Rivian’s Adventure Network, you’ll also have the chance to contribute to Rivian’s consumer product engineering design. Qualifications 5+ years of experience being design and CAD responsible for large products, with a good understanding of sheet metal, casting, and injection molding. Experience and success working with cross functional partners to achieve product success. Experience working in a fast paced start up like environment, yet achieving engineering with a high level of rigor. Experience working with CATIA OR at least two other major CAD packages (such as, Fusion, Inventor, Creo, Solidedge or SolidWorks). An open mindedness, creative engineering streak, and ability to think around corners. Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $137,800.00 - $172,200.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
