Stryker is looking to hire a Staff Engineer for the Advanced Operations team to support Medical Division – Acute Care Business Unit, specifically our growing Digital Healthcare IT portfolio. As the Staff Engineer, Advanced Operations, you will have the opportunity to work on the design transfer of new products from research and development into production. You will help develop premium products through excellence in supply chain architecture, manufacturing, process, and technology development. This is a hybrid role based in Orlando, FL.
What you will do -
As the Staff Engineer - Advanced Operations you will have the opportunity to work on the design transfer of new products from R&D into production. You will also be responsible for managing suppliers and working with internal teams such as Sourcing, R&D, and Operations to ensure products are developed and launched with precision.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support and technical direction for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specificationsSelect components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirementsAssist in management of contract manufacturers for multiple engineering projectsBe proficient with and mentor others in usage of industry standards, including design requirements, manufacturing and test strategies per applicable regulationsWork cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a leader on the teamDeliver high quality results with passion, energy and drive to meet business prioritiesBuild relationships and influence across the engineering groups within the businessParticipate in Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Control Plan, SOP and Production Part Approval Process generation associated with product transfers and launchesConduct supplier audits Ensure adherence to GMP and safety proceduresReview and approval of validation documentationWhat you need -
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required or related technical disciplineMinimum of 4+ years of relevant post-graduate engineering experienceUnderstanding of electrical components and manufacturing methods, including common failure modes Proficiency in the use of CAD and/or other design and analysis toolsGood instincts and sound judgement for electro-mechanical and structural designPreferred:
Experience in the medical electronics / healthcare IT industry Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing related statistical tools and validation/verification techniquesExperience in R&D, new product development or process design Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and can understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing Travel Percentage: 20%Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
