SUMMARY: \n

Regional Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.\n

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working with general ledger accounts, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and financial reports.\n

Key Responsibilities:\n\nPrepare journal entries and support the monthly and annual close processes\nPerform reconciliations for general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed\nAssist with bank reconciliations, cash posting, and credit card transactions\nMaintain organized records and documentation for audits and internal reviews\nTrack fixed assets and support depreciation-related entries\nAssist in audit preparation, including data compilation and schedule generation\nCoordinate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Sales, Service) to ensure accurate and timely transaction reporting\nParticipate in ad hoc reporting, analysis, and process improvement projects.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance\n1-2 years of accounting experience preferred, including internships or part-time roles\nKnowledge of basic accounting principles, including GAAP\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general accounting software\nStrong attention to detail, organization, and time management\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn\nInitiative to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion
