Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description

The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations by preparing and reconciling accounts, completing monthly and quarterly journal entries, and assisting with 1099 reporting. This role plays a key part in accurate month-end close activities and supports a manufacturing and aerospace environment using modern accounting systems and tools.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post monthly and quarterly journal entries in accordance with established accounting standards and company policies.Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.Support accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and assisting with payment processing.Support accounts receivable activities, including recording customer payments and assisting with account reconciliations.Assist with 1099 reporting, including gathering required information, validating data, and supporting year-end reporting processes.Participate in month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Utilize MRP and QuickBooks or similar accounting software to record, track, and report financial transactions.Collaborate with team members in the accounting department to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.Maintain organized and accurate financial records to support audits and internal reviews.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.Strong skills in account reconciliation and general ledger accounting.Experience supporting month-end close activities.Familiarity with MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail and organization.Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a manufacturing setting.Exposure to the aerospace industry or similar regulated environments.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Work Environment

This position is fully on-site and follows a 9/80 work schedule, typically working Monday through Thursday with every other Friday off, supporting a balanced work-life rhythm. The role is based in a professional office setting within a manufacturing and aerospace environment and involves regular use of accounting software such as MRP systems and QuickBooks. The opportunity is structured as either direct placement or a long-term contract-to-hire arrangement, offering stability and the potential for continued growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simi Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
